We care immensely for your children's safety, so all Jobe vests are certified buoyancy aid vests: which means they have a minimum buoyancy of 50 newtons. This means no matter which vest you choose you can be assured that your little one will float safely.  

Like sizing an adult Jobe life vest, the procedure is similar for a kids life vest as well. The vest should fit snug. To test the fit, tighten all straps and close zippers and then lift the child by holding the child's life vest by the shoulders. The child's ears and neck should not slip through the head opening.

A childs life jacket should always be shallow water tested after purchase to ensure the correct sizing and floatation needed. The advantage to testing a kids life jacket is not only to ensure proper fit and flotation, it's an opportunity for your child to become comfortable with their vest while on the water.
